Liz Hingley is a little blond, born in Birmingham, UK, 30 years ago.

She holds a first class BA Honors in Photography and an MSc in Social Anthropology with distinction from University College London.
During a two-year scholarship with FABRICA in Italy she made the work “Under Gods ” which was published by Dewi Lewis and became an internationally touring solo exhibition.
She moved to Shanghai in 2013 to continue her projects at the invitation of the Ricci Institute at Fudan University and as a visiting scholar of Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences.

Liz will make the images of 99 women.
7 main visuals and the images ‘behind the scene’ to document the making of the project.

Liz, how did you hear about this project?
Genevieve introduced the concept to me and I was immediately captivated.

What convinced you to participate?
I am a woman. It’s an experimental, beautiful and daring project, which is creating a unique community.

How do you see the women in Shanghai?
Colourful, innovative, intimidating, successful and sexy.

What kind of woman are you?
I am small but strong with an excitable mind. I like exchanging with people.
